Why should I wax instead of shave?Waxing removes hair from the root unlike shaving which removes hair from the surface only. Over time, hair will grow back less dense and more sparse.How long will results last?Results last between 3-6 weeks depending on each individual's hair growth. With regular waxing the length of time between treatments will increase. Continued waxing results in sparse hair re-growth. How long does hair have to be to be waxed?You'll get a better wax with longer hair, we prefer it to be at least 3 weeks growth. Remember, don't shave close to a waxing appointment!Will hair grow back thicker after waxing? Definitely not. Usually hair grows back thinner and slower.What is the difference between a regular bikini wax and an extended bikini wax?A regular bikini wax only takes care of the hair that would be seen and just inside of a conservative bikini bottom. The extended wax is not to be confused with a Brazillian Bikini wax. While it does go in a little further on the sides and further down from the top, you will not be completely bare. Are there any precautions or things I shouldn't do after a wax?Let your practitioner know of any products like Retin-A you are using on your face before having your eyebrows, upper lip, or any facial hair waxed. Avoid the sun immediately after waxing and please wear sun screen; recently waxed areas are prone to hyperpigmentation if exposed to the sun. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours. Please do not use exfoliating products (AHAs, scrubs, etc) and loofas 24 hours prior to waxing and at least 24 hours after waxing. Avoid tight clothing after waxing, especially in the waxed areas. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs. Regular exfoliation may be helpful especially on leg and arm areas. Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimize irritation.
